As an independent voluntary welfare organisation, the Young Women Muslim Association (YWMA) raises its own fund through flag day and other fund raising projects. We appeal to you to donate generously towards our cause. Your support will help us to continue with our various community services. As an affiliate member of the National Council of Social Service, donations beyond $50 will be given tax-exempt receipts (please indicate your NRIC number at the back of your cheque) .

 
The MUIS Religious Council (MUIS) has given approval for PPIS to collect Zakat on their behalf. We became a zakat collection centre in April 1997. The catogories of Zakat are as follows :

Zakat On Saving

The common method of calculation in Singapore is to take 2.5% of the lowest annual balance of all types of savings.This lowest balance must be equal or more than the nisab.

Zakat On CPF Saving

Savings 2.5% of the amount of CPF savings at every year end balance upon completion of haul and nisab. The amount may be paid annually OR backdated ie. upon withdrawal of CPF savings.

Zakat On Gold

2.5% of the market value of gold (such as gold bars). This value must be equal or more than the nisab. ie. the value of 86 grams of gold.

Zakat On Shares

2.5% of the amount market vakue of the shares upon completion of haul and nisab.

Zakat On Business

2.5% of the net current asset upon completion of haul and nisab.
